Role: Solo project — concept, development, deployment
Goal: Build a modern, fast and findable web presence for our small kennel
Our small Shiba Inu kennel needed a web presence that works without a page builder: fast, responsive and easy to maintain. I built it as a static React single-page app with Vite and TypeScript, deployed on Netlify. An SPA like this is not the obvious choice for SEO, so searchability got extra attention: structured data (JSON-LD LocalBusiness), Open Graph meta tags, a generated sitemap, robots rules and clean canonical URLs.
The site introduces the three Shiba Inu dogs Yuzu, Momo and Hanabi with a dedicated page each, covers litter planning with transparent health testing (patellar luxation, eyes via ECVO, hip dysplasia and genetic tests), a FAQ for prospective owners and a photo gallery. Visitor numbers are tracked privately with analytics via umami.
The kennel is run by my partner Madeleine; I support her in all organizational and technical matters — this website is my part of the heart project.
